Wake up where you left off
Nightcap puts the brightness and volume back, and your tab is right where you dozed off.
Nightcap is a Netflix sleep timer for your laptop or PC that works like the one on your TV: the picture dims, the sound fades, and the computer goes to sleep.
Netflix has a sleep timer in its phone app, but not in a web browser, so the next episode keeps playing until it asks “Are you still watching?”
For Mac, Windows and Linux. Free and open source. Works offline, no account needed.
With a 45-minute timer, the screen starts dimming at 25 minutes and the volume starts coming down at 30. By 40, the show is still playing, just dark and quiet.
At 45, the computer sleeps. There's no sudden silence to wake you up.
Nightcap turns down your computer's brightness and volume, not one app's, so it works the same with Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Disney+, Prime Video, podcasts and VLC.
Where YouTube and Spotify have desktop timers, they only pause that one app and leave the screen on all night.
Pick a length that matches the episode, press Start, then go full screen.
Not sleepy yet? Choose +15 Minutes from the moon icon in the menu bar or system tray.

The same timer and menus on every computer.
No account, no subscription and no ads.
For Mac, Windows and Linux. Getting started has the install steps.
